2020 and 2021 were characterized by pandemic restrictions and I didn't want to travel and take part in competitions under these restrictions.

2018
On September 27th, 7 days before I was supposed to participate in Ironman Barcelona, I crashed my bike on a downhill in Montecatini Terme and broke my neck. I don't remember anything from the episode. But it kept me out of competitions for a very long time.

2016 - 2017
After a 2017 season with 3xDNF which usually has to be described as being a failure, I am nevertheless mega proud and happy - because I have got back - got back after my herniated disc which made me partially paralyzed in my left leg - it happened in the winter of 2015- 16
I had to quit Ironman South Africa, Frankfurt and Sweden every time after about halfway through the runleg because I simply couldn't run well enough after my herniated disc. 4 and a half hours in the TT position still obviously provoked the nerve to my left calf too much.
